Broader Curriculum Enrichment

The children in the Reception and Year 1 class all went to Conkers in Swadlincote to take part in Robin’s Winter Warmer. The children all had a great day learning about how animals survive in winter and making animal puppets. They also travelled on the Santa Express, which took them to a magical winter wonderland grotto where they were met by Santa.

Thank you to everyone who supported our Children in Need Non- Uniform Day and cake sale. Altogether we managed to raise an amazing £ 378.65. – The cake sale raised a brilliant £145.00 and we would like to say a big thank you and well done to our Head Girls, Emily and Aisling who organised the cake sale and to Miss Houghton for her help and support.

The Circus Workshop Company visited us again. All the children had the opportunity to participate in various circus skills, which they all enjoyed. It was great to see the children learning how to spin plates and how to do tricks with a diabolo and lots of other activities.

Children from our Year 4 class all became Crime Scene Investigators for the day. They spent the day working with an ex-policeman who showed them how to look at finger prints, the procedure used to search a suspect, looking at crime evidence and at the end of the day a crime scene was set up and the children had to investigate and put into action everything they had learnt. It was a really interesting day and all the children had a great time!
