Congratulations to Seamus, who won young sports performer of the year at the South Leicester sports awards. The award recognised all the county and regional level achievements Seamus has had, in such a wide range of sports. Seamus is presented with his award from Haseeb Ahmad, who is the most inspirational blind man. Having lost his sight at 17, he went on to achieve a world record and gold medals in world triathlon and Iron man events.


Well done to all the children who took part in the School Games County Championship finals in Uppingham! You represented the school brilliantly and we all had fun! A special well done to our Yr 6 hockey team who won overall and are now County Champions!


Our children had a great time at Tri Golf. Year 5/6 came 1st, going to the finals day to compete with the whole of Leicestershire and Year 3/4 came 4th.


Congratulations to our year 4, 5 and 6 athletics team for winning the area sports small schools award at Saffron Lane.


Well done to Glenmere’s year 5/6 tennis team, who won the Oadby and Wigston Tennis tournament!

Huge congratulations to Glenmere’s fabulous netball team, who played brilliantly at Thomas Estley college and won the South Leicestershire finals tournament to win a place at the Leicestershire and Rutland final in June.


Well done to our year 5/6 swimming team that competed in the South Leicestershire swimming gala. The whole team tried really hard and enjoyed the event.


Our Year 5 and 6 pupils played in a ‘Quicksticks’ hockey tournament. They played really well and scored some great goals!


Some year 3 boys represented Oadby and Wigston at Prestwold Hall and had a great time!


The girls football team played in another tournament. They won one game and drew one, well done!


The Glenmere rugby team won a local tournament, only conceding 3 tries in total! Well done!


Glenmere won the Leicestershire and Rutland County basketball finals. They played against the best teams from 10 different districts from Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. Before getting to the final, we had to win our area tournament and then the South Leicestershire tournament. It’s an amazing achievement. There are some pictures of the team below, as well as a video of them receiving their medals.


Our netball team won the Oadby and Wigston netball tournament.


The girls football team played in a tournament at Wigston Academy. They won two games and narrowly lost one, playing really well in all three.


The year 1/2 gym team competed against the whole of Leicestershire and Rutland after winning a competition the other week. They finished in 6th place and all did really well.


Our year 5/6 hockey team won the Oadby and Wigston tournament, winning all 5 games and only conceding one goal. Well done!


Our gymnastics teams competed in a local competition. They all did really well, with our year 1/2 team winning their age group.
