In April 2017, Glenmere represented Oadby and Wigston in the Leicestershire and Rutland county finals. They played against the top teams from 8 districts. To get to these finals Glenmere had won the Wigston schools competition, which 12 teams had entered. They then went on to beat Gartree High School, who won the Oadby tournament. They then won the Leicester Sports Partnership tournament. On the day of the County finals they did extremely well and came 2nd. They won their group stage, where they played against Hinckley and Bosworth, West Leicester and Melton. They also won their semi final against Blaby and Harborough and then lost in the final to West Leicester, who they had beat in their group stage. It has been over 10 years since Glenmere made the basketball county finals.

Glenmere’s Basketball Teams took part in a tournament held at Wigston Academy on Thursday 16th March 2017. Both teams did extremely well with our A team being undefeated and the B team being knocked out in the semi-finals. Well done to everyone who took part!
