If you’ve not done so already, we encourage you to sign up for text message alerts, which are offered by Glenmere (providing we have electricity!).

We also encourage parents to keep up-to-date with any closure details by checking this Website and listening to local radio.
The decision to close a school is taken by each Head Teacher rather than the council. Head Teachers have to weigh up a number of factors including the local weather conditions, pupil safety and the staff numbers before making a decision.
Schools are not obliged to alert the council to closures but a list should also be available on the BBC Leicester Website and other local radio Websites.
