Every half term, children at Glenmere take part in a No Way Day where the focus is to developing understanding of the difference between conflict and bullying. This half term we focused on kindness and how important it is to be kind to one another

Wear Pink for Ava

Everyone at Glenmere joined in to raise money for a special girl and family by wearing pink - Ava's favourite colour!

Wicksteed Park

Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 have had the most amazing time at Wicksteed park. It was a real treat to see the children have such a wonderful time celebrating and enjoying a well-earned reward, after working so hard this year. They loved taking on the roller coasters, the log flume and the umbrellas and their smiles were infectious as they ran around the park.

Indian and African Dance Workshops

All year groups had the opportunity to take part in African and Indian dance workshops where they learnt how to perform choreographed pieces which celebrated the different styles and cultures of the dances. The children were able to dress up in traditional clothing, which enhanced their experiences and added to the excitement the children felt. They had a wonderful time, and it was great to see every child embrace the opportunity - there were some very talented performances too!

Protected Characteristics Day

It is important we always remember that we are all special and unique. We are all equally deserving of a happy, healthy and safe life where we are treated with kindness and respect by people around us. We all deserve the same opportunities and chances to succeed.

We spent a day visiting different classes that had set up activities to help us to learn more about each of the protected characteristics.

Children in Need

We always enjoy supporting Children in Need each year, and 2022 was no different! each class baked something tasty for the Pudsey Perents Coffee afternoon, which was a hug success and there was a Glenmere Pudsey Bake Off Challenge for families to enter to win a prize. Then we sold all of the delicious baked goods at the end of the day in our Children in Need Cake Sale.

Every morning the year 6s braved the weather to take out Pudsey so that loose change could be stuck to him. A fun and worthwhile cause that is always so well supported by our families.

Virtual tour of EYFS

We now have a virtual tour available of our Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) classroom and outside space. If your child is due to start school and you are thinking of applying for a place here at Glenmere, please watch the video to give you an insight into our Reception class.
